SYMPHONIC BAND

This band is open to 9th – 12th graders who have achieved the technical and reading competency needed to study
grade 2 and higher music literature. This band is for woodwind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists. Emphasis will be on the continued development of tone production, technique development, theory knowledge, pitch and rhythm reading skills
with the intent of developing life-long musicians. Performances and rehearsals are an extension of the classroom. Students are expected to perform in concerts, presentations, festivals, parades, field shows, and competitions including
all home football games, some basketball games, and Solo & Ensemble. Optional events and trips will be offered to students. This group will be required to play in the Pep Band.
